Little Red Riding Hood

'Scrappy' Medallion
This little quilt has taken an inordinate amount of time, mainly during the the concept plan stage! Little Xavier is no longer a newborn baby and the fabrics I had started working with  just didn’t feel right anymore.cropped-swatches3

Sarah,  Xavier’s mum has chosen a colour scheme of blue green and beige for his nursery, but as winter approaches I felt that the fabrics I’d started using for the quilt seemed too cold. I’ve kept some of the Amy Butler ‘daisy chain’ fabric I had used as the basis if the original quilt but have added a  more varied selection of fabrics, even mismatched fabrics to try to give the quilt a ‘vintage’ feel.

I looked back over some blogs today to find some ‘Riding Hood’ quilts I had loved, and found some more lovely things from the same wonderful craftswoman showcased on ritacor blogspot and Gayatri Flickr.

The work shown on this site is beautiful www.fairytales.bigcartel.com
