Happy Easter

April 3, 2010

Yesterday a friend and I went to Castlemaine by train. It was a beautiful day and we had a destination in mind. Threadbear is a beautiful shop specializing in reproduction fabrics and with patterns for beautiful traditional quilts and some books. The town is lovely with old buildings built in the era of the gold rush and some lovely gardens .  Traveling there by train is ideal-one and a half hour hours each way and you can sew! I’d started this block at a class to learn to applique ages ago  and it was lovely to do on the train.

We each found a few pieces of fabric of course.

What a lovely trip… sounds like a very quaint and charming little place. Your applique block is very pretty, Kathy. The pieces you got from the quilt shop are beautiful!
Hope you had a lovely Easter 🙂

Thanks Pratima, Hope you had a lovely Easter too. It was absolutely beautiful here in Melbourne- clear, sunny, still and 23 degrees. Lovely to puddle around relax.

That’s great, Kathy! We had a relaxing Easter weekend.
The weather was so warm and nice. So we went for a walk in the nearby park 🙂
